The Experience
-
No way! Sway tours are designed for all - people who have never once stepped onto a sail boat to seasoned sailors.
-
You sure can! Our captains are also certified sailing instructors, so guests are more than welcome to get involved. Whether you want to steer, handle the lines, or learn how to read the wind, just say the word. Some guests prefer to sit back with a drink and let the captain handle everything — and that's perfectly fine too

Catamarans are known for being exceptionally stable on the water, which makes seasickness far less common than on a traditional monohull sailboat.
Come prepared. We suggest taking preventative medication or patches ahead of any symptoms. If you do start to feel off, fresh air, the horizon, and a little ginger go a long way. Your captain will also factor sea conditions into every day's route to keep the sailing as smooth and enjoyable as possible. -
Mornings start with breakfast made by your captain, followed by a sail to your next destination. Lunch is served on board — either while still underway or once we’ve arrived, in which case you're welcome to head ashore instead. The afternoon and evening are yours to explore. Wander the town, find a beach, or let us set up an activity. Evenings are spent on land, soaking up the local atmosphere before returning to the boat for the night
-
Most routes take in 4 to 5 destinations, with flexibility to linger somewhere you love or move on when you're ready.
-
Absolutely! Every group is different, and your itinerary should reflect that. Share what you're hoping for — a particular island, a mix of lively ports and quiet anchorages, more time in the water, more time exploring on land — and your captain will craft a route around it. Weather and sea conditions will always play a role, but within that, the week is yours to shape.
-
Safety always comes first. If conditions aren't ideal, your captain will adjust the plan — a different route, a sheltered anchorage, or a later departure. We sail in some of the most reliably sunny waters in the world, but if the weather does shift, your captain knows exactly how to handle it.
-
Yes, basic snorkeling and fishing equipment is available for you to use.
Practical & Logistics
-
Check out our Destinations page for boarding locations. Specific marina details will be covered once you book. There is some flexibility in pick-up and drop-off location, so if your situation is a little different — a different arrival city or a one-way trip — just mention it when you reach out and we'll figure out what works
-
Check-in and check-out is typically in the afternoon. Times will be confirmed at booking. We recommend avoiding same-day travel on departure or arrival day.
-
Specific items will depend on location and time of year but generally you'll want to pack light and soft. Duffels and soft-sided bags are much easier to store on board than hard-shell luggage.
Think swimwear, casual clothing, a secure hat, a light jacket for cooler evenings and rain, and something nicer for nights out on land. Some of our destinations have vibrant dining and nightlife scenes worth dressing up for. Bare feet or non-marking soled shoes are recommended on the boat.
Err on the lighter side — most ports have great shops to fill any gaps. We'll send you a full packing list after booking so you arrive perfectly prepared
